Mayslake - West Parking Lot Improvements
The parking lot on the west side of Mayslake Hall is the site of the Forest Preserve District's annual Native Plant Sale.
The parking lot is in need of improvements because it has lost 50% or more of its integrity and durability.
The project involves the complete removal and replacement of all asphalt surfaces in the parking lot and addressing the insufficient aggregate base under the parking lot, which has caused integrity issues within the surface of the asphalt such as potholes.
Additionally, the project will include replacing some of the concrete curb, sidewalks and will address drainage issues along the parking lot and building.
Status
Work is expected to begin in September 2020 and be completed by May 2021.
Funding
The $306,947 project is funded through a combination of non-referendum bond funds and yearly appropriated construction and development funds.
