The need for modern flush restrooms has been identified as a priority project for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. Over the next several years, the District has identified seven preserve locations to install flush restrooms. This is a certified master plan project for the District.

The first four preserves identified are Mallard Lake in Hanover Park, Pratt’s Wayne Woods in Wayne, Wood Dale Grove in Wood Dale and Waterfall Glen in Darien. 

The modern restrooms will include flush toilets, sinks with running water, drinking fountains, and family restrooms for all preserve users.

Status

Construction is underway and expected to be complete by October 2024.

Funding

Approximately $2 million has been budgeted in yearly capital development and master planning funds to cover all costs associated with the design, permitting, and construction of the first four flush restroom facilities.
