Take a Romantic Night Hike at Fullersburg Woods Feb. 9 & 10
Explore a preserve at night during popular evening walk for couples and friends
Enjoy the springlike temperatures forecasted for this upcoming weekend with someone you love on a Nature Date Night: Romantic Night Hike from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 10 at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve at 3609 Spring Road in Oak Brook.
Take a 1- to 2-mile self-guided walk with your sweetheart or pals on lantern-lit paths. Meander through an oak forest, and cross scenic bridges where you can listen to the soothing sounds of Salt Creek. Pause along the way to warm up at historic shelters and cozy fires or to roast marshmallows and sip hot chocolate.
“We set the scene for a beautiful winter escape,” said District environmental interpreter Jenny Kamm. “Year after year this is one of our most popular programs for adults.”
The Nature Date Night: Romantic Night Hike is for ages 18 and up and costs $12 per person. Register online or at 630-933-7248. Wear sturdy walking shoes that you won’t mind getting muddy.
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has been connecting people to nature for more than 100 years. More than 5.5 million people visit its 60 forest preserves, 166 miles of trails, seven education centers, and scores of programs each year.
