Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Welcomes New and Renewed Board Members

The Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County recently welcomed three new volunteers to its board of directors and celebrated the reappointment of another. Each was approved for a three-year term serving the Friends, a 501(c)(3) organization, by vote of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County board on Feb. 7.

The Friends engages the community in philanthropy to advance the vision of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. The current board has 11 volunteers, who bring their passion for conservation and the outdoors with them to their service.

New board members include Mike Dyer of Wheaton, David Stang of Hinsdale, and Joseph Suchecki of Naperville.

Mike Dyer, financial advisor with Edward Jones of Wheaton, enthuses, "I love nature! One of the many highlights I have living in DuPage is the many forest preserves that surround us. I want to be involved with helping that cause to preserve them and enjoy what we have around us."

"I hope my participation with the Friends will allow me to further my efforts to both improve the natural resources of DuPage County and expose more people to the benefits and importance of nature," shares David Stang, founder and president of Stang Capital Advisory LLC and Forest Preserve District volunteer site steward for Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve.

"I will use my knowledge of the preserves, experience as a long-term volunteer, and enthusiasm for protecting our natural resources to promote fundraising efforts and expand donations," says Joseph Suchecki, retired vice president of public affairs for the Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association of Chicago and the current Forest Preserve District volunteer site steward for Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve.

The Friends also celebrates Ashley Guest of Winfield, manager of financial planning and analysis at Calamos Investments, on her renewed term on the board, where she serves as treasurer.

The Friends thanks its past and current board members for their service and for all who contribute generously through the Friends to support the forest preserves.
