Dog Poop Bags Survey

Try Our New Poo Free Parks Bags

Why are there two different bag dispensers at this off-leash area?

The Forest Preserve District is offering two different poop bags as a pilot program at select off-leash areas.

The existing bags, Mutt Mitts, are in the familiar white dispenser.

The new bags, Poo Free Parks, are in the green dog-bone-shaped dispenser.

What's the difference?

The new Poo Free Parks bags are made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and are about a third of the cost of Mutt Mitts. We hope to offset our environmental and fiscal impacts by offering these bags as a second option.

But recycled does not mean reduced reliability. Poo Free Parks bags are thicker than similarly made bags, which means cleaner hands and no leaks, and give you plenty of room to tie them shut.

Are Mutt Mitts going away?

Not for now, but we hope you’ll try the new bags.

How long will the new bags be available?

You’ll be able to try the Poo Free Parks bags until we exhaust our inventory. The Forest Preserve District will then decide whether to continue to offer them.

How can I share my opinion of the bags?
