The Forest Preserve District invites local clubs, businesses and civic groups to learn about its forest preserves, education centers and year-round programming through a speakers bureau, which runs annually from November through April.
A District naturalist, ranger, heritage interpreter or ecologist will deliver a half-hour program with time for questions and answers. Programs are free to DuPage County residents; out-of-county programs may have fees. All groups must make reservations at least 10 business days in advance by calling Community Services & Education at (630) 871-7537.
Three additional programs are offered through Willowbrook Wildlife Center, the District’s wildlife rehabilitation and education facility. “Backyard Birds of DuPage County” explores the lives of common species and the world of birding. “Behind the Scenes at Willowbrook Wildlife Center” shares an exclusive look as what goes on at this dynamic center. “The Urban Coyote” explores the natural history of coyotes and their place in the urban landscape. For information on fees or and scheduling for these three programs, groups should call Willowbrook directly at (630) 942-6200.
