Summer on the Prairie

In summer, the array of prairie plants in bloom in DuPage forest preserves increases dramatically and provides a welcomed addition to the landscape. If you visit one of the preserves, you might wonder what the colorful and elegant plants are. Our plant ecologist Scott Kobal introduces us to some of the more common native species to be found in our prairies.
