McDowell Grove: West Branch DuPage River Flood Control and Re-Meander Project

The West Branch DuPage River Flood Control and Re-Meander Project will address flooding concerns along the river in Warrenville. Improvements include extension of a flood control berm and multi-use path along River Road, creation of compensatory storage in Leone Schmidt Heritage Park and realignment of the West Branch of the DuPage River. The Warrenville Road bridge will simultaneously be replaced by the County's Division of Transportation. The $3.9 million project is expected to begin in spring 2015.

Trail users can avoid the area under construction and take a designated trail detour through Warrenville.
