Salt Creek Marsh

Salt Creek Marsh currently stands as an undeveloped, natural area comprised of ponds, wetlands and floodplain forest along Salt Creek. The preserve hosts wetland birds such as great egret, spotted sandpiper, and great blue heron, and its retention basins and marshes aid in storm-water control for the community.

Recreation

Fishing

Anglers will find fishing opportunities on Salt Creek and in the ponds of Salt Creek Marsh. All anglers 16 and older (except legally disabled persons) are required to have valid Illinois sport fishing licenses in their possession and must follow District and state regulations.

Trails

While Salt Creek Marsh is largely undeveloped, the Regional Trail system accesses some portions of the preserve.
